Vacation Home in Florida
From this Florida vacation home, Anclote Key is just a
short boat ride away.
From this vacation home, the north end of Anclote Key is
only about a 4 mile boat trip. This is where boats pull up to the
beach. Anclote Key is an island that is a state park and game
preserve. From this Florida vacation home many of our guests enjoy
trips to this beautiful island.

Guests at or Florida vacation home took this picture of
their children playing in the surf at Anclote Key. Note how calm the
Gulf of Mexico is. This is not like the Atlantic coast where there
are huge waves. It is usually very calm like this. Adult supervision
should of course be used at all times.
The above is a section of Anclote Key that
shows how deserted this island is. The only way to get to it is by
private boat. It is very natural. The folks that "grade" the beaches
in the U.S.A. rate this in the top ten of all beaches, including
Hawaiian beaches.
The north end of Anclote Key has a sandbar
on it that the 3 fishermen on the right are standing on. The current
is swift over this sandbar when the tide is changing, and this makes
it very good fishing. It also makes this a spot where youngsters and
oldsters should not swim, and macho men should be very cautious.
Occasionally there will be a shipwreck on Anclote Key,
like this one.
Here is the lighthouse that is on the south end of Anclote
Key. This is "open" and the adventurous can climb up the starway
inside it. WARNING... some steps are missing and CAUTION has to be
exercised. NO MESSING AROUND in here it is a dark stairway about 8 to
10 stories tall. There is NO protective guard rail at the top so do
not fall off. The fall would almost certaintly be fatal!..
